I took some snapshots of Cologne and the places that mean something to me! I missed out on some cause the weather wasn't too good in the last days! Well it totally caught up for the weekend and since Paul Kalkbrenner plays open air today I couldn't be more enthusiastic 'cause it's 28 degrees and not a single cloud is in the sky! Well honestly, Cologne is not like Paris or Barcelona - you never get this 'wow what a beautiful city'-feeling after a three day visit but I can promise you that Cologne is a feeling and if you know this city well, it has more things to offer than any other place I've been to so far! Luke's exaggeration?? Just come over and find out for yourself!
I <3 Cologne!!
Rhein-Energie Stadion. The place where dreams are made (and then destroyed in 90 minutes!)!!
The four light-posts are lit up at night! Fancy!
Cologne's "skyline" from the other (the wrong) side of the Rhine.
The cathedral ("Dom") is 157 meters high and belongs to the highest in the world!
Since it's a world heritage site Cologne is not allowed to build any high buildings in something like a 5 k circle around the cathedral!
The towers from below. Cologne has been severly destroyed in second world war through allies carpet bombing. The Cathedral was only hit twice, though.
The "love-bridge"! A tradition copied from italy. Couple hang up a lock with their names engraved or just written on it as a symbol for their love. ROMANTIC, ey??
Locks!
Probably the best reasons to come to Cologne: Fabi and Luke.
(Here on my welcome Party on saturday. Me of course showing off with asia-t-shirt)
Me on Sunday morning before I went to Paul Kalkbrenner. Well actually that's just 5 mins ago!
(Don: I'm wearing the Marathon-shirt! Instead of working out I've been smoking a lot. Stupid!)
